POWER AUTHORITY ANNOUNCES COURT, PSC DECISIONS
NEW YORK, Dec. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- "New York's electricity consumers got a pair of holiday gifts today from state Supreme Court and the state Public Service Commission," Richard M. Flynn, chairman of the New York Power Authority said Wednesday.
Both decisions involved the planned purchase of lower-cost hydroelectricity from Canada for distribution to consumers in downstate New York.
In state Supreme Court in Manhattan, Judge Kenneth L. Shorter rejected an attempt by Canadian Cree Indians, the Sierra Club and other groups to require the Power Authority to conduct environmental impact studies of ...
