Jan. 23--Despite unemployment rates among the highest in the state, third-quarter taxable retail sales in Clark County continued to outpace the state average.
According to figures from the state Department of Revenue released Wednesday, retail sales in the county grew by 7.9 percent in the third quarter, July through September. Sales jumped from $416 million in the third quarter of 2001 to $449 million in 2002, according to figures released Wednesday by the state Department of Revenue.
