OPEL TO BUILD NEW PLANT IN EISENACH, GERMANY, FOR 150,000 CARS

BERLIN, Dec. 13, /PRNewswire/ -- Adam Opel AG will build a new automobile plant in Eisenach, eastern Germany, with production scheduled to start in late 1992. The Opel-Eisenach GmbH plant will create 2,600 new jobs and represents a total investment of DM 1 billion. Construction of the facilities is planned to begin in January 1991, with the first cars of the Corsa and Kadett class scheduled to roll off the assembly line in late 1992. Production will be about 150,000 units annually.
