PARIS -- Hedi Slimane's first jeans have hit shelves across Europe.
The five-pocket designer jeans -- whose twist is that the Japanese denim canvas is woven on traditional wool looms to give the fabric what Dior describes as a "ring" effect -- are available in two cuts; low -- 7.5 inches, and regular -- 8.25 inches. Treatments include indigo rough or black rough denim, black burned denim, indigo used and black-painted indigo used denim, as well as gray or white calendered gabardine and lustre finishes. The jeans are priced from $187.50 to $435.50.
