GRIP AND GRIN: We don't typically publish photos of check-donation ceremonies, but we couldn't resist the winning smile and natural charisma of Ricky, the Alaskan malamute mugging for the camera as he shakes hands with Bartell Drug Co. marketing exec Michael McMurray.

The occasion was an event last week at the Seattle Animal Shelter marking the end of the seventh annual Super Pet Photo Contest.

As part of the promotion, Bartell Drug and Kodak Processing Labs donated $5,400 to the animal shelter this year from photo-processing proceeds. Contest winners receive prizes including Petco gift certificates.
