Jan. 27--Twelve years ago, Lane County's economic boom quietly got under way. Ten years later, after a spectacular ride, it fizzled in the nationwide high-tech bust. Now, the county's economy seems to be perking up a bit.

After the volatile 1990s, is the Eugene-Springfield area still an attractive place for businesses to locate and expand?
