Article: UW Puts Strict Limits On Residency.

Jan. 29--It's going to take more than an in-state driver's license, voter registration card and a year living at a local address to pay resident tuition at the University of Washington.

Starting this month, new out-of-state undergraduates also will have to show financial independence from their parents and prove in a variety of ways that they moved here for other than educational reasons.

The changes, administrators say, will bring the UW's residency requirements more in line with those at other universities. And boosting the number of students who pay ...
