ORLANDO, Fla. _ As the new golf season dawns, fans of the Golf Channel are beginning to see some of the most sweeping changes in the eight-year history of the niche network _ new sets, new faces, new programs and, it seems, a new ambition.
"It was time," Dave Manougian, president of the Golf Channel, said last week of the $1 million-plus face-lift.
Even many of the Golf Channel's most ardent fans would probably agree that it was time for a change.
As fun as it has been for golf addicts to be able to watch a golf-only evening news show, or spend evenings watching grainy black-and-white reruns of a dashing young Arnold ...
