Food Network host Paula Deen was lying in bed at her waterfront Savannah, Ga., home in late January, recovering from plastic surgery to her eyes and chin, unable to see much except for the glint of her new diamond engagement ring.
A lady of leisure? Hardly.
Deen, 56, still can't shake the notion that true wealth is not having to wait until payday to buy groceries.
That was her only goal 14 years ago, when her marriage was failing and she knew she had to come up with a plan to support herself.
