2003 FEB 4 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Researchers at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine have found that people with gene mutations associated with abnormally high iron levels are 40% more likely than others to develop colon cancer.
A report of the research found the cancer risk greater in mutation carriers who are older or who consume high quantities of iron.
