While dumbfounded investigators try to figure out how a box cutter got into a backseat pouch on a plane at Logan International Airport, FBI officials yesterday confirmed it was not a foiled terrorist plot.
"There is nothing to indicate a crime on board an aircraft and no nexus to terrorism," said Gail Marcinkiewicz, spokeswoman for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Boston.
Agents were deployed to the harrowing airport scene Tuesday afternoon when a first-class passenger boarding a United Airlines jet heading to San Francisco discovered the retractable box cutter.
