Despite some advances, the president of the College Board, which administers the national Scholastic Aptitude Test, says more has to be done to close the gap in results that still exist between minority and white students.
The remarks by College Board President Gaston Caperton follows the release of a report by the group that outlines the progress, but also the shortcomings, of U.S. K-12 students taking the SAT for college admission. In recent years, the SAT and ACT tests have had to weather criticism for being culturally stacked against minorities and others.
