Jan. 31--The County Commission is preparing to deny Club Exotica's liquor license renewal based on what Sheriff Jerry Modena called "non-compliance with county licensing codes."

Modena and other officials wouldn't be more specific, citing an ongoing legal battle with the Emery Highway strip club and saying those revelations should wait for a hearing before county commissioners. That hearing hasn't been set, but commissioners are scheduled to discuss the issue in a Feb. 11 committee meeting.
