NEW ORLEANS -- NEW ORLEANS, Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- A study released today at the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists Annual Meeting on Women's Cancer shows that the survival rate of women diagnosed with primary invasive epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) has steadily increased over the past three decades, specifically, 25 percent in 2-year and 15 percent in the 5-year relative survival rates. The purpose of the study was to assess the changes in patterns in diagnosis and relative survival in women diagnosed with primary invasive EOC from 1973 to 1997, with follow-up through 1999.
