Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands -- Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, February 2 /PRNewswire/ -- On January 29 2003,His Excellency the Governor, Mr. Bruce Dinwiddy, issued a statement on behalf of the United Kingdom Government, stating that the former Director of the Financial Reporting Unit (FRU), Mr. Brian Gibbs, is no longer in the Cayman Islands because of a "potential risk to his personal safety." The statement went on to characterise his resignation as tendered "in the spirit of public service" and to conclude that "the UK government authorities concerned acted properly."
