Just over a week into the election campaign meant to usher a new era of governance into Prospect Heights, the city is again mired in political scandal.

Mayoral hopeful and 4th Ward Alderman Gerald T. Anderson accused the city Wednesday of fabricating an illegal objection to his election petition.

The city clerk Wednesday released an objection filed by Mayor Edward P. Rotchford against Anderson's candidacy - a day after a group of Anderson supporters met a Tuesday deadline to file objections to oust six political adversaries from the ballot.
