WESTERN UNION EXTENDS MONEY TRANSFER NETWORK INTO CANADA

WITH ACQUISITION OF UNITEL MONEY TRANSFER BUSINESS

UPPER SADDLE RIVER, N.J., Jan. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Western Union Financial Services, Inc., has extended its Money Transfer network into Canada through the acquisition of the Money Transfer business of Unitel Communications, Inc. The acquisition, made through a newly formed Canadian subsidiary of Financial Services, was completed on Dec. 31, 1990. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
