TEN YEARS AGO YOU COULD pay up to $10,000 for a karaoke machine, excluding the box full of expensive CD+G disks to make such a purchase worthwhile. You would have needed a fair size room to put the machine in. As is always the case with new technology, the price point drops at about the same rate as the size, meaning that today a karaoke CD+G/DVD player that will slot neatly into your TV/video cupboard--and still leave space for a couple of disks, the remote control, and a mic--can be had for not much over $200.
