Greenhill Humane Society in west Eugene is cleaning up 29 small-breed dogs rescued from a pack of about 550 discovered last week at a rural home in southeastern Oregon.
The shelter on Greenhill Road also is asking for cash donations to help cover the cost of caring for the abused animals.
Greenhill is one of several Northwest shelters that offered to help find homes for the dogs, many of which are sick and malnourished.
