Harry Katz is a sole trader who is struggling to find cover.
All attempts to renew his policy have met with dead ends from liability insurers and the FSA alike.
Since first experiencing problems, Katz has sought guidance from the regulator via several unanswered letters and emails. Eventually, exasperated, Katz arrived unannounced at the FSAs offices in Londons Canary Wharf. To the regulators credit, a senior PI official agreed to meet Harry and even offered a loophole.
But Katz later discovered a flaw in the plan, which could have left him with incomplete, non-compliant cover.
