I wish Colin Powell would have the goods when he goes before the United Nations.
I wish he could produce an Adlai Stevenson moment. It was Stevenson's pictures - the incontrovertible proof - at the U.N. in concert with Kennedy's hard line that led the Soviet Union to back down in the Cuban missile crisis.
If Saddam were faced with the same kind of evidence, he might have to back down as well. He might have to admit he had lied. What a vision: Weapons found and dismantled; pressure increasing daily to admit there are more.
OK, that's almost certainly a pipe dream. But if Saddam did ...
