Article: Congressional Democrats Gearing Up To Scour MDA Budget For Areas To Cut.(Missile Defense Agency)

House and Senate Democrats this week are taking initial steps to plan a strategy for proposing cuts to the Pentagon's fiscal year 2004 defense budget request in the area of missile defense, House and Senate aides reported.

As the overall budget request reached Capitol Hill earlier this week, Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.), ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, was one of the first to criticize the request and charge it is a mistake to increase dollars for missile defense.
