The original meaning of the Sanskrit word guru is "venerable." An Indian guru acted as a spiritual guide delivering his disciples from maya, the treacherous "real" world of illusions, leading them to samadhi ("enlightenment," "oneness with the universe"). As Switzerland did not want to leave all the famous gurus to India, it produced its own gum of worldwide fame: Martin Ebner. However, instead of spiritual values, Ebner preached the gospel of shareholder value, and that's why he was until recently called a Borsenguru ("stock-exchange guru").
If the saintly Indian guru Ramakrishna worshipped the skull-wreathed goddess Kali, the less esoteric Swiss Borsenguru ...
