Burton Feldman, a professor, poet and historian, died Jan. 10 after a brief struggle with cancer. He was 76.
Mr. Feldman spent most of his career at the University of Denver, where he taught more than 30 different courses in English and American literature and in the history of ideas.
He also taught poetry workshops, edited Denver Quarterly magazine and eventually became director of graduate studies at the school. He was a much-sought-after instructor with a remarkable rapport with students, his family said.
