CHESAPEAKE -- He was, of course, not the Jack Dempsey.
Jack Dempsey bore the albatross of everyone who shares a name with someone famous. Every guy named Jerry Lewis or Tom Jones knows the routine - the knowing grins, the tongue-in-cheek remarks: ``You're not the Jack Dempsey?''
At some point, Jack Starkey Dempsey, who died Jan. 31 at 72, learned to take it in stride.
``I'm not a boxer, I'm a lover,'' he would say, smiling.
