Article: El Paso Corp. Wants Class-Action Suit Thrown Out.

Feb. 8--El Paso Corp. asked a federal judge to throw out Oscar Wyatt's class-action suit, accusing the oilman Friday of being on a personal vendetta to oust the company's management.

As the lead plaintiff in a consolidated shareholders' lawsuit against El Paso, Wyatt has accused the company of a variety of misdeeds. They include misleading investors through the use of round-trip trades, improper accounting to inflate revenues, hiding debt in off-balance-sheet partnerships and manipulating the California energy market.
