British telephone firm Cable & Wireless has rejected an offer by Hong Kong-based PCCW to buy some of its assets. According to PCCW Chief Operating Officer, Mike Butcher, PCCW approached Cable & Wireless in December 2002 but the contacts between the companies have not progressed to any meetings, let alone a formal offer.
