A British soldier had been treated at a Birmingham hospital after contracting a potentially fatal tropical disease.
The soldier, who has not been identified, was stationed with his regiment in Sierra Leone, West Africa. He was flown back to the UK after falling ill on January 30.
Initially it was believed he was suffering from malaria and he received treatment in the infectious disease unit at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital.
