Feb. 13--With Congress gearing up to reauthorize a six-year transportation spending plan, local officials agreed Wednesday to ask for $425 million to finance rail and transit projects in Central Florida.
The projects are phase one of a sweeping 25-year, $6.6 billion wish list that envisions rail lines and special bus circulator systems stretching from Sanford to Kissimmee and from Ocoee to the University of Central Florida.
