THEY'RE a menace! They eat up and destroy farmers' crops, pull down fencing and cause road accidents.
Now a cull of wild deer in Snowdonia may be on the cards.
At present there is no way of telling how many wild deer there are roaming free across private and forestry land in Wales but there could be hundreds.
Although wild deer are popular with tourists and sightseers, farmers in North and Mid Wales are worried that if deer numbers keep increasing into new territories, a cull will be necessary. Now a new project hopes to address the problem, as well as raise people's awareness about deer.
