Feb. 13--ARLINGTON, Texas--City leaders have asked for a meeting with the chancellor of the University of Texas System and have stepped up the rhetoric demanding that UT-Arlington remain a priority for research funding.
The mayor, chamber of commerce president and other civic leaders sent Chancellor Mark Yudof a letter Wednesday asking him to come to Arlington to discuss his "vision for the future of UTA."
The group is alarmed by statements Yudof made in December saying that the University of Texas at Dallas would be a top priority for research funds.
