2003 FEB 3 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- The bone metabolism regulator pamidronate may be useful as maintenance therapy for multiple myeloma patients, researchers in Japan say.
H. Kondo and colleagues at Shimizu Kohsei Hospital "investigated the anti-tumor effect of pamidronate after obtaining a decrease of serum monoclonal immunoglobulin (Ig) level by conventional chemotherapy in patients with multiple myeloma (MM)" in a preliminary study.
