Feb. 13--Mills Corp. executive Edward Vinson says his company's $1.3 billion Meadowlands joint venture with Mack-Cali Realty Corp. will be "the most exciting family entertainment destination in the country."

Ray Bateman, a member of the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority board, had a less flattering name for the Xanadu project: "Gridlock City."

But on Wednesday, most members of the authority's board decided that they preferred Vinson's vision to Bateman's fear.
