COMMUNITY groups whose victory in a dispute over the entitlement process for Howard Hughes Center was just overturned may take the case to the California Supreme Court.
The Coalition of Concerned Communities Inc., a group of residential and environmental groups in Marina del Rey and Playa del Rey, named the city of L.A., J.H. Snyder Co. and Arden Realty LP in 2000, in its suit. The group claims that developers of the Howard Hughes Center owe $6 million in city fees related to the project's Entertainment Center. The developer was a joint venture called ORIX Snyder L.A. Venture, a partnership between Snyder and ORIX Real Estate Equities Inc.
