Horizon Shipbuilding, Inc. of Bayou La Batre, Ala., recently delivered the M/V Ibom, the second vessel in a three-ship order for SLOK Nigeria Ltd. The Ibom is a 200 ft Single Point Mooring Vessel outfitted to provide oil field abatement, fire protection and heavy lift service in the vicinity of offshore single point moorings in Nigerian waters. The vessel departed for Nigeria November 17, 2002. According to Horizon, Ibom is not only one of the largest vessels ever constructed and launched in Bayou La Batre, it is also one of the most sophisticated vessels ever constructed there.
