NEW YORK -- First aid products continue to be a mainstay of chain drug stores' health and beauty aids offerings, and suppliers are doing their part to sustain the category's strength with innovative launches.
Sales of first aid accessories in drug stores last year vaulted 14.4% to $503 million, according to Information Resources Inc. (IRI). That growth rate was more than 4 points better than that posted by supermarkets, which generated less than half the sales in the category than drug stores did.
