Down three goals to the absolutely scalding Colorado Avalanche and all-everything goalie Patrick Roy entering the third period Saturday night, the Wild had a modest plan: Save some face, drum up a little confidence, win the final period.
It nearly won the game.
The Wild's comeback, though, came up one ring outside the bullseye as the Avalanche held on for a 3-2 victory at the Pepsi Center.
