Feb. 19--San Antonio entered the "Hydrogen Age" ceremoniously Tuesday. The city still has a ways to go, however, before it joins the dawning hydrogen economy.
The ceremony at Brooks City-Base was held to observe the fact that the location now has four 5-kilowatt fuel cells in operation, built by New York-based Plug Power.
Three of the natural gas-using fuel cells generate electricity for Brooks residences under a $500,000 federal grant. The fourth powers and heats the city-base's Challenger Educational Center, sponsored by the Illinois-based Gas Technology ...
