Unix Draws Bulls, Bears
Predictions for the future of Unix on Wall Street mirrors the predictions for most everything else there: it's bearish, bullish or both. An outlook depends on who makes it and what timeframe is being targeted.
Observers at the recent Unix Expo conference in New York came down squarely on all sides of the issue, though there was a general consensus that the short-term outlook for the operating system is weak, and the five-year prognosis is much stronger.
