Jan is a good friend who struggles with her weight. Her problem is that she overeats.
Recently, Jan and I went out to dinner. We were both very hungry, and we each ordered a lot of food. I took half of mine home; Jan ate all of hers. This has happened before. Near the end of the meal, Jan often says she's still hungry. Physiologically, it takes 15 minutes for a message to get from her stomach to her brain saying, "I'm no longer hungry," but Jan isn't satisfied even after 30 minutes.
Why? Most likely she has an impaired communication between her stomach and brain and her brain simply isn't getting the message that she's full. If this sounds like you, I ...
