ATLANTA, GA. -- The Brazilian broiler industry in 1970 represented less than 3% of world production with no participation in the world markets, but today the country has more than a 14% share of world poultry production, and the country is a major exporter of poultry (Figure).
Just how Brazil has been able to become the world's second-largest producer of poultry and an exporter of broiler meat was the topic of discussion during a session sponsored by Alltech Inc. at the International Poultry Exposition here Jan. 23.
