Feb. 21--TAMPA, Fla.--For nearly a decade, Sami Al-Arian has denied allegations that he is a terrorist, fashioning himself as a peace-loving professor not afraid to speak out for Muslim causes and American freedom.
Al-Arian, a 45-year-old Palestinian who has taught computer science at the University of South Florida since 1986, has steadfastly denied any wrongdoing, insisting his politics have been misunderstood and taken out of context.
