It touches on a rich artistic and cultural heritage, an infamous period in America's past and a bit of speculative history.
"It" is the Chesapeake Museum's annual exhibit in celebration of Black History Month.
Past February exhibits have featured stereotypical/racist displays of advertising and popular culture, and a look at how several successful and educated black families coped with the double standards of life in post-Civil War Hampton Roads.
