Feb. 22--At 8:40 a.m. last Wednesday, I locked the door of the house I grew up in, went to the end of the driveway, took a photo, got in my car and drove away.
I still feel weird.
My two sisters and I had just spent three days emptying the house. My mother, after long urging, is finally moving to a retirement community.
There's something no one ever tells you when you're growing up: Someday, you'll wind up running your parents' lives.
