It was senior day at Colgate, and Mark Linebaugh felt indebted to the senior class for all the times, both good and bad, that he'd been through with them in his three years at the program.
He showed his gratitude by draining a 48-foot jumper from beyond half-court as time expired, lifting the Raiders (12-13, 7-5) to a spellbinding 60-59 victory over American (12-13,7-5) that gave the Raiders a share of third place in the Patriot League.
The Eagles had just gone ahead 59-57 on a Glenn Stokes baseline jumper with 1.5 seconds remaining. Raiders coach Emmett Davis called a timeout to draw up the winning play.
