Joey Fane admitted he shot and killed Dennis Richmond but the focus Saturday in his first-degree murder trial was whether he meant to kill Richmond.
"The defendant's judgment that night was terrible and so was his intent," Assistant District Attorney Jac Heitz said in his closing argument. "When (Fane) tells you that the gun accidentally went off ... he tells you at that moment he worried he ruined his life but at that moment he cost another young black man his life."
Fane, 27, has testified that he did not mean to kill Richmond, and his lawyer Peter Steinberg asked the jury to consider convicting ...
