New Zealand's first Total Diet Survey since 1997/1998 will be carried out over 2003 and 2004. The survey will be undertaken by the New Zealand Food Safety Authority (NZFSA), although previous surveys were carried out by the Ministry of Health. The first details of the foods proposed for testing in the survey were released in January 2003.
