Feb. 25--Rep. Doug Ose will introduce legislation today authorizing a new four-lane bridge over the American River as the Friday deadline looms for the closure of a well-used commuter route over Folsom Dam.
If the Sacramento Republican's bill is to avoid the killer potholes that have scuttled earlier legislation, it first will have to skid around the same political bottleneck holding up progress on Sacramento flood control -- the fight over building a controversial multipurpose dam at Auburn.
