Trumpeter Dave Douglas is not one to toot his own horn, but even he admits his new ensemble is making some real noise in the jazz world.
"Hopefully, it's not like anything that's happened before," says the soft-spoken Douglas by phone from his studio in New York City. "That's my goal, but I realize it's arrogant and pretentious to pretend that we could do that."
