High school graduation rates went up statewide last year, and also improved among minorities and Milwaukee public school students, state education officials reported Monday.
The statewide graduation rate increased to 90.83 percent in the 2001-2002 school year, compared with 89.95 percent in the previous school year. The rate in Milwaukee Public Schools jumped to 60.13 percent compared with the previous school year's rate of 54.73 percent, the state Department of Public Instruction said.
